Ogoh Ogoh Zine

Ogoh Ogoh is a photo zine in DIN A5 format with 64 pages and 52 illustrations, complemented by texts by Denise Omurca & Wayan Diarsa in English and Indonesian.

It is limited to 250 copies, each hand-numbered, with every cover hand screen-printed by the artist.

The photographs reflect the contrast the artist perceived during his stay, as he witnessed both the euphoria of the traditional performances with the handmade Ogoh-Ogoh figures and the subsequent Day of Silence, Nyepi. The work is a subjective observation and documentation through the artist’s perspective, created solely to share his own sense of fascination, as he felt that the locals’ enthusiasm was shared with him. It was a shared euphoria, empathy, and joy.
